The 26-year-old man who allegedly murdered 5 crew members on FV Tiro II, last year has pleaded not guilty to his charges.
Tevita Qaqa Kapawale appeared before High Court Judge, Justice Daniel Goundar.
He is charged with 5 counts of murder, 1 count of attempted murder, and 1 count of criminal intimidation.
The state lawyer told the court their case will be based on the evidence that will be given by eyewitnesses and also an interview that was conducted by a local investigative journalist.
He says the accused had admitted to the murders during the interview with the journalist and the audio recording is with police.
He adds they will also rely on the video caution interview that was conducted by police.
Kapawale has been further remanded in custody and the matter has been adjourned to till July 1st.
