Kamikamica alleges clock was said to be a gift
A former Post Fiji board director took the stand yesterday afternoon and alleged that former Board Chairman, Mahendra Patel had said that the external clock to be mounted on the Post Fiji building was a gift.

As the case continued yesterday, Joseva Kamikamica recalled that at a meeting he heard one of the directors, Lute Powell asked about the exterior Seiko clock and according to Kamikamica he remembered the reply from Patel was that the clock was a gift.

However he said he later found out that the clock was purchased by Post Fiji.

Kamikamica was also shown an annual report but nothing was in the report about the Seiko clock.

Meanwhile, Former Chairman of Post Fiji Managing Director Peni Mau's personal assistant told the court that Mahendra Patel had always declared his interest as Chairman of Motibhai in every annual returns filed by Post Fiji Limited.

Annie Sue told the court she cannot recall anything on the annual returns filed by Post Fiji as she has not seen this document before.

Nagin raised concern on some disclosures filed by FICAC on the $75,000 paid to Motibhai for the purchase of an exterior clock.

While questioning Annie Sue, he referred to his disclosures however the witness could not answer as this part was missing from the disclosures provided to her.

Sue was also asked about the salaries of the Board of Directors in 2002 and 2003 by the defence counsel, Hemendra Nagin.

Nagin also asked Sue who prepares the annual report of Post Fiji 2003.

Sue said as far as the Board of Directors salaries is concerned, she does not know how much they get.

The case continues at 10am today.
