The Government of the Republic of Korea through the Korea International Cooperation Agency has donated 1,420 personal protective equipment kits, which consist of surgical gowns, disposable masks, non-woven aprons and masks, dental bib and masks with eye shield, together with 210 non-contact thermometers.

The second batch of donation is to support the frontline health workers.

KOICA has already provided personal protective equipment worth $420,000 to support Fiji in tackling the pandemic. Most supplies have been delivered to hospitals.

The Country Director of KOICA Fiji Office, Kapchae Ra says as a key partner in the health sector, it is crucial for KOICA to support Fiji in its fight against COVID-19.

Minister for Health, Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete says this support will greatly assist Fiji’s frontline workers to safely and effectively deliver an enhanced public health response that is required to contain the pandemic.
