Joshua Ducia of Ratu Sukuna Memorial School confirmed his victory in the re-run of the 100-meter final, crossing the finish line in 10.94 seconds.

The 18-year-old Deputy Head Boy powered ahead in the final meters, securing a clear win and silencing any doubts from the earlier race.

Ducia's mother, Romili Kuruvesi, shared her joy, attributing her son's success to God's guidance.

She highlighted the challenges her son had faced, particularly his injury last year that kept him out of the Coca-Cola Games after the zone competition.

She says that despite the setback, Joshua underwent two rounds of rehab and intense training to make a successful return.

The man from Noco, Rewa says he is glad he came out on top this year and is super proud of his achievement.

He told fijivillage News that he is dedicating his win to his late dad, who passed away back in 2018, and believes that if he was here today, he would have been proud of him and his achievements.

Ducia also expressed gratitude for his mother's unwavering support, acknowledging her role in his success, and reminisced about his past accomplishments, including winning the 100m and 200m in the zone last year and helping his team secure a gold in the 4x100m, however, just two weeks before the Coca-Cola Games, an unfortunate hamstring injury sidelined him, but he vowed to make this year his redemption year.
