25.2 million in additional grant has been given by the government of Japan for the reconstruction of the Tamavua-i-Wai Bridge. $ Minister for Public Works Ro Filipe Tuisawau says the reconstruction of this bridge will avoid traffic along Lami and will result in easy accessibility for the public.

Ro Filipe says the current bridge will be the transit out of Suva and the new bridge will be the transit into Suva.

He says it is vital not only to develop the urban areas but the government is looking at the rural and maritime developments as well.
