Jale Baba pleads not guilty to one count of Making a False Statement

SODELPA representative, Jale Baba has pleaded not guilty to one count of Making a False Statement for allegedly publishing falsified Voter Lists and other false information related to that list on Facebook last year.

Baba was charged by FICAC last October.

Today was the second time Baba appeared in court after being charged as he suffered from a stroke and was just recently declared fit to take his plea and take part in court proceedings after an evaluation conducted by the St Giles Hospital Medical Superintendent.

FICAC Senior State Counsel, Francis Puleiwai informed the court that there are admissions and did not object to the accused being excused from the next court date due to his condition.

The case has been adjourned to 11th September.
