Italy has confirmed it is closing schools and universities until the middle of March because of the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

The Italian government says 107 people have died of the disease, 28 in the past 24 hours.

Iran is also reporting 15 new deaths from the virus, bringing the total there to 92.

Hospitals in the UK are being asked to carry out consultations by video link to reduce the risk of infection.

The World Bank has also announced a 12 billion US dollars aid package for developing countries struggling with the virus.

India is also limiting the export of certain medicines, prompting fears of global shortages of common drugs.
