Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side skipper Vatemo Ravouvou says it is good to be back in Hong Kong as they have good memories there.

It was a sentimental jersey presentation in the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team camp last night.

The players were given the honour of presenting the jersey to their teammate.

Taking a look at Fiji’s record at So Kon Po Stadium is enviable with five title wins in a row before the pandemic in 2020 and seven wins in eight going back to 2012.

Ravouvou says winning all those years in a row, the best bit was playing as a team.

In total, Fiji have been crowned champions on 19 occasions and been finalists 30 times – including the last two years where they were beaten by New Zealand in the decider.

Fiji will begin their Hong Kong 7s campaign against Australia at 9.30 tonight. They will then take on Canada at 12.33am tomorrow morning and play France at 5.43pm tomorrow in their final pool match.

The men’s cup quarterfinals kick off at 9.09pm Saturday, the the semifinals are at 5.40pm Sunday and the cup final is at 10.53pm Sunday

The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side will play Australia at 4.25 this afternoon in their first match, followed by their match against South Africa at 7.12 tonight, and they will play Ireland at 3.02pm tomorrow in their final pool match.

The Women’s cup quarterfinals start at 7.34pm Saturday, the cup semifinals are at 4.54pm Sunday with the final at 10.13pm Sunday. The Hong Kong 7s kicks off today and ends on Sunday.
