Issues such as legal medicinal marijuana to be discussed at AG's Conference

Issues such as legal medicinal marijuana to be discussed at AG's Conference

The topics of discussion in this year’s Attorney-General's Conference will focus on e-filing, property opportunities, alternative dispute resolutions, right to health, right to privacy and legal medicinal marijuana.

This has been revealed by Acting Chief Justice Kamal Kumar at the opening of the 21st Attorney General's Conference at the Intercontinental Resort, Natadola.

He says the lawyers may be aware that consumption of marijuana for health issues has been legalised in some countries with stringent regulations.

Justice Kumar adds the presentation made by the panel members will be interesting and thought-provoking.

He also says that rapid advancement in some way or another has a substantial effect on the right to personal privacy as social media such as Facebook can be used to use personal information and pictures to make fake profiles.

Justice Kumar says he hopes that by the end of the conference the legal community has a better understanding of the topics covered as they have an opportunity to seek clarification on any issues that they may have.

About 500 members of the legal community are attending the conference that will finish tomorrow afternoon.
