The issue of passengers standing up in the buses throughout their journey and still having to pay the same fare has been raised in the bus fare consultations that has been held in Suva.
Bus Fare Review Committee Chairman Joel Abraham highlighted this as one of the many issues that has been raised with them during the consultations that was held in the Capital City.
He says that other issues raised were bus cleanliness, loud music, standard of service and driver conduct in terms of unavailability of disposable cards and misinformation.
Abraham adds that these issues have been noted and the committee will deliberate on addressing them.
He says that the consultations have been going well with responses from the public continuing to pour in not just through the face to face consultations but also through emails, texts, social media and post.
Abraham says that generally people’s preference is text message as the Bus Fare Review Committee has received over 6000 texts and 600 emails in the last 6 days.
Abraham says the committee will also roll out the customer survey later this week where they will be taking the views of the travelling public at various bus stations around the country.
The consultations are being held at the Old Nausori Bus Stand from this hour to 2pm and then from 5pm to 7pm.
