Israel's security cabinet has agreed to a ceasefire deal to end the 11-day conflict with Gaza militants.

It says the truce was proposed by Egypt and would be "mutual and unconditional".

BBC News reports The main Palestinian armed groups in Gaza, Hamas and Islamic Jihad have also confirmed the ceasefire.

They say the ceasefire will come into force at 11 am but Israel has not confirmed this to the BBC.

Egypt's state TV says Egypt's president is sending security delegations to Israel and the Palestinian territories to help uphold the ceasefire.
