Team Fiji National 7s coach Osea Kolinisau says their 2024 Paris Olympics quarter final match against Ireland where they won was about converting opportunities.

While speaking from the Games Village, Kolinisau says the characteristic of a champion is having the heart to fight after they were trailing two scores down at half time.

He says even though Ireland was ahead, he told the team that they are a team of 12 players and not 7.

Kolinisau says his message to the team at the break was they needed to get possession and they had and to score first.

Fiji plays Australia in the second semi final at 2am tomorrow while hosts France meet South Africa at 1.30am.

The final will be played at 5.45am tomorrow.
