The Fiji Water Flying Fijians lost to Ireland 52 -17 in the Autumn Test Series this morning.

The Irish side scored eight tries to two.

Irish captain Caelan Doris led by example, scoring the first try of the match from a line-out to give the host side a 7-0 lead.

The Flying Fijians rallied together to try and come up with a response, but Jiuta Wainiqolo’s try was disallowed as he came short of the try line.

Flanker Josh van der Flier, Craig Casey and Mack Hansen scored a try each in the first half to put Ireland in a 28-3 lead at the break.

Fiji’s first points came from a converted penalty by Caleb Muntz, and their first try was scored by Kitione Salawa in the 54th minute.

Ireland continued to dominate the match in the second half, scoring four tries from Bundee Aki, Gus McCarthy, Ronan Kelleher, and Hansen.

18-year-old Setareki Turagacoke scored Fiji’s second try.
