The investigation process regarding the questioning of Ratu Epenisa Cakobau and others is still underway.

Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho says that upon the completion of the investigation, the file will then be forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution where a decision on the charges if any will be made.

Ratu Epenisa Cakobau was supposed to be installed as the Vunivalu of Bau last week but it was called off after the Native Lands Commission found that the protocol had been breached in the selection of the proposed candidate Ratu Epenisa Cakobau.

Ratu Epenisa’s elder brother Ratu Joji Kadavulevu Cakobau had written to the Native Land Commission to dispute this decision.

The title of Vunivalu of Bau has been vacant since 1989.
