Illegal dumping of rubbish concerns Nasinu and Nausori Town Council
Chief Executive Officer for Nausori Town Council Anurashika Bari

The Nasinu and Nausori Town Council has raised concerns after facing challenges of solid waste collection where people dump rubbish anywhere and whenever they want.

Chief Executive Officer for Nausori Town Council, Anurashika Bari says white goods collection is done every four months in March, June, September and December.

She says despite having these schedules in place, residents illegally dispose their rubbish in the drains and creeks.

Bari adds that disposing of rubbish in the drain has affected families during heavy rain and bad weather.

The CEO is urging members of the public to be mindful and stop dumping rubbish in the creeks and drains.
