IFRC President makes historic visit to Fiji
A traditional welcoming ceremony at Moala Village in Nadi

A traditional welcoming ceremony was accorded to the global president of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Kate Forbes this morning at Moala Village in Nadi.

This is her first visit to Fiji as IFRC's global president, marking a significant moment for the IFRC and the Moala community.

Forbes will observe a full-scale evacuation drill presented by the villagers of Moala, demonstrating community preparedness and response protocols.

Red Cross will also provide support programs ahead of the cyclone season during this visit.

Moala Village has been a flood prone area for many years.
