I wish my grandmother was alive to see me play - Donoghoe

Kurt Donoghoe was overwhelmed with the simplicity in which people in the Vanua and from his village in Ba lived their lives, which made him more proud to wear the Vodafone Fiji Bati jersey with pride.

Donoghoes’ grandmother is from Ba and has links to Savusavu.

He says he was fortunate enough to meet his family in Ba after so long.

He adds that it just hits home when he sees his family, and he wishes his grandmother was still alive to witness him play today.

Donoghoe, who plays hooker for the Dolphins in the NRL, will be dictating things for the back line as a playmaker when the Bati will face Cook Islands Aitu at 8.10 tonight at the HFC Bank Stadium.
