Hundreds of people in Waidamudamu, Nausori are stuck as heavy rain has caused flash flooding

Hundreds of people in Waidamudamu, Nausori are stuck in their homes as heavy rain has caused flash flooding in the area.

There are more than 200 houses in Waidamudamu.

Resident Umesh Chand says the water level is about 4 to 5 feet high.

He says water has not entered his home however, it may have entered the homes of those living in the lower areas of Waidamudamu.

Some vehicles are also underwater.

Flood waters have started to recede in Vusuya Road in Nausori.

Thousands of people living in the area were affected this morning by flooding caused by the heavy rain and blocked drains.
