Hundreds of Hindus gathered at My Suva Park in Nasese for Ganesh Visarjan, which marks the final day of the 10-day Ganesh Utsav festival.

During the celebration, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad highlighted that Lord Ganesh is the source of wisdom, prosperity, and the remover of obstacles in life.

Professor Prasad says that beyond this, the celebration also brings people together.

He adds that this was also an opportunity to reflect on history, culture, tradition and unity in Fiji.

The Deputy Prime Minister also acknowledged the Fiji Sevashram Sangha and everyone associated with the activities of the Ashram in Fiji.

Today’s event was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm as families and communities came together for prayers, bhajans, and the final immersion ceremony, marking a heartfelt farewell to Lord Ganesha.

Food was also distributed to people at the park.
