Heavy rain warning remains in force for parts of Fiji

A heavy rain warning remains in force for the eastern parts of Viti Levu, Lomaiviti and the southern Lau Group and is now also in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands and northern Lau Group.

An active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain over the Fiji Group is gradually moving east.

People can expect periods of rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over the eastern parts of Viti Levu, Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lomaiviti and the Lau Group.

Rain is expected to gradually ease to showers later today.

Localised heavy falls can result in flooding of low lying areas.
