A heavy rain warning remains in force for Viti Levu, Vanua Levu, Yasawa, Mamanuca, Lau and Lomaiviti group.

As earlier forecast by the Nadi Weather Office, some areas in Sigatoka Town are now flooded with more rain to come throughout this weekend and next week.

The flooding in Sigatoka Town is mainly due to drainage issues.

People are advised to take necessary precautions.

A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain remains slow moving over the Fiji group.

Expect continuous heavy rain and thunderstorms from tonight.

Localised heavy rain may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.

A strong wind warning is also in place for Rotuma as the second low pressure system approaches Fiji.

The Weather Office says the two weather systems will bring heavy rain in many parts of the country until next week and the second system could become a tropical depression.

The second system is likely to become a tropical disturbance and then a depression as it moves South East towards Fiji from early next week and passing west of Viti Levu.
