Heavy rain warning now downgraded to alert while flood warning remains for North

The heavy rain warning that was previously in force for the whole of Fiji Group is now downgraded to alert.

Acting Director of Fiji Meteorological Service, Terry Atalifo says the river flood alert remains in force for low-lying areas, small streams and flood-prone areas.

Atalifo says a flash flood warning remains in force for flood-prone areas in the Northern Division.

He adds as the coastal inundation alert remains in force for the coastal areas, people are advised to take precautionary measures.

Atalifo says abnormal high tides are expected over Fiji until Wednesday and may lead to sea flooding of coastal areas of the southern parts of Fiji.
