Heavy rain warning for Viti Levu and other parts of the country

A heavy rain warning is in force for Viti Levu, Yasawa, Mamanuca and the Southern Lau Group, Kadavu, Lomaiviti and nearby smaller islands.

A heavy rain alert is in force for the Northern Lau Group.

The Nadi Weather Office says a trough of low pressure is approaching the country from the West and is expected to affect the country from today.

Rain is expected to increase from later today and is expected to affect the country until later tomorrow.

Localised heavy rainfall can cause flash flooding in low lying areas.
