Heavy rain alert remains in force for the whole of Fiji

A heavy rain alert remains in force for the whole of Fiji.

The Nadi Weather Office says a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain lies slow moving over Fiji.

It says that the low-pressure system is expected to intensify from tomorrow and affect the group till early next week.

The Weather Office says the whole of the Fiji group can expect occasional rain, heavy at times and few squally thunderstorms.

Rain becoming frequent from tomorrow and localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.

A flood alert is in force for all low lying areas and small streams for the whole of Fiji.
