Heavy rain alert remains in force for Fiji

People should continue to expect rain in the coming days as the Nadi Weather Office says a heavy rain alert remains in force for Fiji.

There is a heavy rain warning for Vanua Levu, Taveuni, Northern Lau group, Northern Viti Levu, Yasawa and Mamanuca group.

The Weather Office says a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain remains slow moving over the Fiji group.

Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.

The heavy rain being experienced around most parts of the country is expected to continue into this Easter weekend.
