A heavy rain alert is now in force for the Yasawa Group, Vanua Levu, Taveuni, and nearby smaller islands, Northern Lau Group, Lomaiviti Group and the Eastern Half of Viti Levu which includes Navua, Nausori, Suva and Tailevu.
The Nadi Weather Office says a trough of low pressure lies slow moving just to the North of Fiji, and rain is expected to ease from later tomorrow.
People can anticipate rain, heavy at times and thunderstorms.
Heavy rain can also cause flooding in low lying areas.
