A heavy rain alert is now in force for western half of Viti Levu which includes Sigatoka to Rakiraki, western half of Vanua Levu ,Yasawa and Mamanuca Group.
The Nadi Weather Office says the tropical disturbance was located approximately 1,100 km to the North West of Nadi.
They say the associated active rainbands are expected to affect the group from tomorrow.
Heavy rain can cause flooding in low lying areas.
