A heavy rain alert is now in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni, Yasawa and nearby smaller islands.
The Nadi Weather Office confirms that a Tropical Disturbance was analyzed North of Fiji earlier today.
It is slow moving and expected to drift South and possibly intensify into a Tropical Depression.
The associated trough of low pressure with cloud and rain is expected to affect the Northern parts of Fiji from tomorrow. Rain will become heavy and frequent from tomorrow.
