A heavy rain alert is now in force for whole of Fiji.

The Nadi Weather Office says a weak trough of low pressure lies slow moving over the Fiji Group.

Another trough of low pressure is approaching the group from the Northwest.

Associated cloud and rain is expected to affect the country from later today till Friday.

Expect cloudy periods with some showers and isolated thunderstorms over Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, the Eastern and interior of Viti Levu, Yasawa Group, Lau and Lomaiviti Group.

Localised heavy rain may lead to flash flooding of low lying and flood prone areas.
