Expect a rainy Easter Friday as a heavy rain alert is now in force for Viti Levu, Yasawa and Mamanuca Group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.
The Nadi Weather Office says a moist northeasterly wind flow prevails over the country while a trough of low pressure to the West is expected to affect the Fiji group from later tonight until Friday.
They say expect occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms with heavy rain for Eastern Half of Viti Levu, Yasawa and Mamanuca Group, Northern Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.
They say showers are expected to become frequent and increase to rain from later tonight.
People are advised to take extra precaution.
