Strong Wind Warning remains in force for Macuata, Northern Bua, Cikobia, Taveuni and maritime areas

A Heavy Rain Warning remains in force for the entire Fiji group.

The Weather Office says an active trough of low pressure, with associated cloud, showers and rain, is expected to affect the group over the next few days.

They say there will be occasional rain, with isolated heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms across most areas.

People should expect flash flooding in flood prone and low lying informal settlements, communities, business areas and Irish crossings, which may lead to traffic disruptions.

Surface flooding is also possible on streets in urban areas with poor drainage.

Drivers are advised to expect slippery roads and reduced visibility, especially during heavy downpours, which increase the risk of road accidents.

The Weather Office also says a Strong Wind Warning remains in force for the land areas of Macuata, Northern Bua, Cikobia and nearby smaller islands, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, and the Lau and Lomaiviti groups.

People can expect strong northwesterly winds with speeds of up to 45 kilometres per hour.
