Heavy Rain Warning in force for Fiji

Heavy Rain Warning in force for Fiji

A Heavy Rain Warning is now in force for the entire Fiji group.

The Nadi Weather Office says an active trough of low pressure, with associated cloud, showers, and rain, is expected to affect the group over the next few days.

They say there will be occasional rain with isolated heavy rain and thunderstorms in most areas.

People should expect flash flooding in flood-prone and low-lying informal settlements, communities, business areas, and Irish crossings, which may lead to traffic disruptions.

Surface flooding is also possible on streets in urban areas with poor drainage.

Drivers are advised to expect slippery roads and reduced visibility, especially during heavy downpours, which increase the risk of road accidents.
