The Heads of Missions for the Australian and New Zealand High Commissions in Fiji are yet to respond to comments made by Fiji's Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama to get out of their offices and find out what is really happening on the ground in the country.
Questions sent to the two Acting High Commissioners remain unanswered this afternoon.
Commodore Bainimarama said he is concerned that misleading information is being fed by the officials of the two High Commissions to their governments.
He questions what is worsening on the ground in Fiji as stated by the NZ Foreign Minister Murray McCully and Australian Foreign Minister Stephen Smith after the Pacific Islands Forum Ministerial Contact Group meeting in Auckland on Monday.
Bainimarama said he has visited a number of provinces around the country and the feedback he is getting is that people are happy with the government's focus on infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, health and education.
Commodore Bainimarama said the problem also with some of the officials is that they are speaking to a group of people who always oppose or see wrong in everything the government does.
Officials of the Australian and NZ High Commissions are expected to comment later today.
