The stage is set and the city of Hong Kong is buzzing with excitement as the 24 teams count down the hours to the start of the prestigious Hong Kong 7s tournament that kicks off at So Kon Po tonight.
But Digicel Fiji 7s captain Dale Tonawai is making sure that his brigade does not get distracted with the hype surrounding their presence in Hong Kong.
Tonawai said the boys are psyched up and morale at camp is high after the Prime Minister’s visit last night.
Speaking from his hotel room in Marco Polo, Tonawai is asking all the people of Fiji to have faith in them.
Tonawai added the team has extra motivation after the Prime Minister’s historical visit to the team camp last night.
And arch rival New Zealand Captain DJ Forbes said heading into the tournament proper this evening, they are aware that all teams pose a threat to the target of winning in Hong Kong.
The starting lineup to take on Malaysia at 9.14pm in the forwards, Dale Tonawai, Setefano Cakau and Jerry Burotu.
Nikola Matawalu will be at halfback, Miti Nacagilevu at playmaker, Joeli Lutumailagi at rover and Osea Kolinisau on the wing.
The Hong Kong 7s kicks off at 8:30pm tonight with the first game between Australia and Zimbabwe.
