Hamilton 7s returns in January 2023

The Hamilton 7s will return to be part of the World 7s Series in January next year.

NZR Head of Tournaments and Competitions Cameron Good says the announcement was a feel-good moment after two tough years for the events industry.

He says it’s great news for the Black Ferns 7s side and All Blacks 7s, who are desperate to play in front of their home fans again.

The HSBC New Zealand Sevens was last played in 2020 but has been missing from the World Rugby 7s Series for the past two seasons as COVID played havoc with the schedule of the international seven.

World Rugby will announce the full 2023 HSBC World Rugby 7s Series schedule in the coming days.
