HEAVEN project gets Aussie donation
Close to 10 percent of 350,000 children in the country who have been scanned by the Heaven project team have been found to have eye sight problems or hearing impaired.

Hearing and Vision Enhancement or HEAVEN project chairperson Malcolm Patterson said this has been the case since the organization started in 1998 and this has led to the children's education being affected.

Patterson made the revelation during a donation of $AUS150,000 from the Australian High Commission to the HEAVEN project at Veiuto Primary School today.

Patterson said the money will assist the organization in its efforts to continue to identify and remedy vision and hearing problems among Fiji's school children.
