Govt to begin giving grants to small and micro businesses
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama

Government will start giving grants to small and micro businesses in the next few days to enable them to grow and graduate into bigger businesses.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama announced in Ba yesterday that he will handover grants to the first batch of recipients this Tuesday who have qualified under this scheme and similar ceremonies will follow throughout the country.

Bainimarama says it is all about empowering ordinary Fijians to fulfill their dreams and to develop existing businesses.

Government has allocated one million dollars for this scheme and each recipient is expected to be provided up to $1,000.

People who have a particular skill including but not limited to handicrafts, small scale fruit and vegetable sellers, tailors, shoe repairs and any other form of micro and small business are expected to receive this grant.
