Due to the increasing number of online threats, the Government is currently reviewing the country's Cybersecurity standings and is focusing on establishing a national computer emergency response team, once a study is completed.

Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica highlighted this at the Pacific ICT Minister's Dialogue meeting at Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

Kamikamica says with this significant investment strategic partnership, the information and communications technology will make sure our information infrastructure is protected from cyber threats.

He says Fiji has a Cybercrime Act 2021 which is aligned with the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime, and is working closely with different organisations to follow through with the convention to protect our ICT.

He adds the country remains committed to this collective vision of a smart Pacific, creating a digital future for the Pacific people.
