The government has extended the expiry of any LTA permit, license, certificate or registration.

Those whose permit, license, certificate or registration expired since the 19th April 2021 now have until 19th October 2021 to renew.

The government says the initial grace period which was set to expire has been extended to continue assisting Fijians and ease the regulatory burden placed on them during the current pandemic.

LTA Board Chairperson, James Sowane has welcomed the extension and requested the owners of commercial and public service fleets to avoid the last-minute rush and over-crowding of LTA offices that could compromise its COVID-19 safety protocols and cause unnecessary frustrations to the general public and stakeholders.

Sowane has also urged companies that own fleets of vehicles to start working on their renewals as soon as possible, as the LTA offices and branches are operating on reduced staff and shortened office hours.

He stresses that permits, licences, certificates or registrations requiring renewal will be subject to the same fees as it would have been applicable upon expiry or when renewing.

This includes the necessary pre-requisite requirements.
