Govt extends application deadline for North payment

People in the North who are unemployed now have time until 5pm this Friday to apply for the Government’s $100 unemployment assistance.

The application closed yesterday however government has extended the deadline.

Applications of people who had applied by yesterday are currently being processed and payments will be made to successful candidates by the beginning of next week.

People can apply by providing their full name, birth registration number or citizenship number, date of birth, TIN, FNPF number, voter identification number, home address and a declaration to confirm they have received both jabs of the COVID-19 vaccine.

You can send these details by dialing *161#.

Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says people whose income has not been affected as well as those who receive other forms of Government assistance are not eligible for this payment.

Sayed-Khaiyum says only one registered sim card is permitted per person and the sim card should be registered under the applicant’s name.
