Govt did not cause the personal issue that led WAF CEO to resign - Usamate

Infrastructure Minister Jone Usamate says there seems to be an insinuation that the government caused the personal issue that led the Water Authority of Fiji CEO to leave and nothing could be further from the truth.

Usamate told parliament today that the outgoing CEO of WAF Barry Omundson has left because there is a certain personal issue in relation to his family that he has to attend to.

He says we should not be making insinuations of this kind without any evidence.

Usamate adds as Minister responsible, he has been in touch with Omundson.

He says he has been very impressed with Omundson's performance.

Usamate adds Omundson has put in a new culture and a new management team that is beginning to have an impact.
