If the boys believe in themselves and continue to work together as a team, Fiji 7s team can retain the Olympic gold medal.

Two-time Olympic Gold medal winner Jerry Tuwai says his preparation for the Olympic Games has been coming along well and he is training really hard to make the team for next month.

Tuwai says the cash incentive by the Government will really boost the preparations of the players.

When questioned on his preparation level during this Olympic Games compared to his last two, Tuwai stressed that the intensity in training has picked up this time around.

Tuwai says he is taking things a day at a time, trying to bring that winning culture back to the team.

The Fiji men’s team is in Pool C with hosts France, USA and Uruguay while the Fijiana are with Olympic champions and SVNS League Winners, New Zealand, Canada and China in Pool A.

The men’s competition will take place from 25th to 28th July, with the women’s tournament following from 29th to 31st July.
