It is still not known when the eight year old girl who died last week in a road accident in Rakiraki will be laid to rest as both her parents are still admitted at Lautoka Hospital.

Elisa Mudliar’s grandfather Prakash Mudliar said that apart from his son and daughter in law, his five year old grandson is also in the hospital.

He said that they are planning to have the funeral early next week however are waiting for his son to be released from the hospital who wants to attend the funeral.

He said his daughter in law is still unable to walk and is still in the Intensive Care Unit while his grandchild has suffered injuries to his left eye and other parts of the body.

These family members were on their way to Rakiraki hospital when they were given a lift by the driver on her way to the Nadi Airport to pick her husband.

The vehicle veered off the road at Malake landing junction where the 8 year old girl died at the scene while the driver died in the hospital last Saturday.
