Get vaccinated if you love your family - Derenalagi
Former Fiji Men’s 7s team captain Meli Derenalagi

Former Fiji Men’s 7s team captain Meli Derenalagi is urging Fijians to get vaccinated.

Derenalagi says if people love their family or their loved ones, then please get vaccinated.

The 22-year-old captained the Fiji 7s team to their first ever Sydney 7s title last year and was also named the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series Rookie of the Year in 2019.

Derenalagi is now fully vaccinated after he got his second jab of the AstraZeneca vaccine in Australia last month.

Fiji has two matches on the opening day of the 7s competition.

They will face Japan on the 26th of this month at 12pm before taking on Canada at 8pm.

Fiji will then play Great Britain at 12.30pm on the next day.

The top two teams in each pool, plus the two third-placed teams with the highest points total will qualify for the quarterfinals.

The quarterfinals will kick off on the 28th of this month.
