Get ready for a wet Easter as Heavy Rain Warning for Viti Levu Yasawa, Mamanuca, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands

Get ready for a wet Easter weekend as a Heavy Rain Warning remains in force for Yasawa and Mamanuca Group, Viti Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.

The Nadi Weather Office says a Heavy Rain Alert remains in force for the rest of the country.

They say an active trough of low pressure remains over the group.

Associated cloud and rain are expected to affect the country for the next few days.

The weather Office says to expect occasional to periods of rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

Possible Impacts: - Flash flooding of some low-lying informal settlements/communities, businesses and Irish crossings leading to traffic disruptions. - Surface flooding expected on streets particularly in urban areas with poor drainage systems and reduced visibility.
