SODELPA General Secretary Viliame Takayawa Junior

The SODELPA Management Board has today decided that Viliame Gavoka should remain as Deputy Prime Minister in the coalition government, and there is no need to give SODELPA Leader, Aseri Radrodro the position of Deputy Prime Minister.

Speaking to fijivillage News after the meeting, SODELPA General Secretary, Viliame Takayawa Junior says although they had written to Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka for Gavoka to remain as Deputy PM, Rabuka me Minister had indicated on fijivillage Straight Talk that he will change the Deputy PM if SODELPA wants to do that.

Takayawa says SODELPA has also set up working committees to look at the review of the electoral laws and the truth and reconciliation process.

He says the Truth and Reconciliation Commission has written to them but they want to understand this process.

Takayawa also says they have always wanted the perpetrators to ask for forgiveness from the victims.

He says they will take their recommendations back to the commission.
