Great relief to the students of Galoa Island Primary School and Kindergarten as they were provided with a Yamaha 40-horsepower outboard engine.

The Ministry of Education says for an island like Galoa, reliable boat transportation is the backbone of daily life for students, teachers, and staff.

The cost of the engine is $7,190.

Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro says the new outboard engine will improve the school’s ability to safely and efficiently transport students and staff, especially during challenging weather conditions.

Radrodro also held talanoa sessions with the parents, village head and teachers where they voiced their concerns about the challenges faced by the communities.
