Futsal coach names team for OFC Futsal Nations Cup

Digicel Fiji Futsal Head Coach Jerry Sam has named a 19-member team for the OFC Futsal Nations Cup that will happen next month in Auckland, New Zealand.

Sam says they had a successful trial with 25 players last weekend but unfortunately they can only take 14 players for the championship.

He says the training session will start this week with the 19 players and it will be trimmed down to 14 players at the end of the week before the team camp next Tuesday.

Sam confirms that former Suva midfielder Shahil Dave will also be joining the team in New Zealand.

Fiji is drawn in Group A with New Zealand, Vanuatu and Tonga.

They play their opening match against Tonga on October 1st.
