Fijiana 7s coach Saiasi Fuli says the achievement of Team Fiji at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics is dedicated to Fijians around the world that have been supporting them through their journey.

Speaking from Japan, Fuli says he hopes it will bring happiness and relief to all Fijians during this time of hardship.

He says it was hard for them not to win gold but he is proud of the girls for never giving up and winning the bronze medal against Great Britain.

Fijiana captain Rusila Nagasau says putting a smile on people’s faces is what they wanted to achieve.

Team Fiji has collected 1 gold and 1 bronze at Tokyo 2020 and they are both from the men’s and women’s 7s competitions.

This is Team Fiji’s best performance at an Olympic Games.

The Chef De Mission for Team Fiji at the Tokyo Olympics, Patrick Bower confirms the remaining athletes will leave Japan on the 10th of this month where they will travel to Sydney and transit to Fiji and enter into quarantine for 14-days.
