Fuel, gas prices to go up from tomorrow
Fuel and gas prices go up from tomorrow due to unavoidable global fluctuation in prices.

The price for a litre of unleaded fuel will increase by 13 cents to $2.62 while diesel goes up to $2.37 a litre.

The current price for diesel is $2.21.

This is a 16 cents increase for diesel.

Kerosene is up to $1.90 litre.

The current price is $1.76.

The price of premix will be $2.55 a litre from tomorrow.

Gas prices also go up from midnight tonight.

A 12kg cylinder of gas will cost you $45.99.

The current price is $43.44.

The 4.5kg cylinder also goes up to $17.25.

A litre of autogas will cost people $2.17 compared to the current price of $2.05.

Prices may differ in the outer islands.

Commerce Commission Chairman Doctor Mahendra Reddy said the increase in fuel prices is due to the rising demand for oil products, strong regional demands from a rise in economic activity in the Asian region, the rise in demand for development in the Middle East and supply disruptions arising out of political tensions in Egypt.

Doctor Reddy said gas prices are up due to freight cost increase and unfavorable exchange rates.
